Would you like to understand and apply scripture more effectively?

The SOAP method is a simple powerful process that  encourages a deeper dive into God's word.

WHAT IS SOAP?

SOAP is an acronym for Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer.

This method allows you to slow down, pause, reflect, and truly gain wisdom. When you interact with God's word intentionally, as opposed to mindlessly reading through, you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you.

What's On The Blog?

If you haven't already, I invite you to read my very first post, "The Prodigal Daughter." I share how, after years of being distant from God, I was able to return to our Father.

Prayer

3POWERFUL LESSoNs we can learn from hannah

Hannah's story, found in 1 Samuel chapter one, is a powerful example of how God listens to the brokenhearted. Hannah was deeply troubled because she was unable to have children. However, through her earnest prayer and unwavering faith, God heard her cries and blessed her with a son.

Here are three key lessons we can learn from Hannah's story and prayer life:

1. Pray with Honesty: Hannah poured out her heart before the Lord to the point where the priest Eli thought she was drunk with wine. Her fervent prayer teaches us that we don't need to conceal our raw emotions. It's perfectly acceptable to share our anger, pain, worries, and fears with the Lord.

2. Keep the Faith: Year after year, Hannah went up to the Tabernacle to pray. While many might have lost hope, Hannah remained faithful in seeking the Lord. Her perseverance shows us that, despite her weariness, she remained expectant.

3. Comparison is the Thief of Joy: Hannah likely would not have been as troubled if Peninnah had not provoked her. Yet, even while facing that torment Hannah continued to seek the Lord, knowing that only He could transform her situation.

New Favorite Book

The Awe of God by John Bevere

As a mom, I find it challenging to carve out time for myself, so I have to get creative. For me, enjoying a good book is truly a treat, a rare escape I seldom get to experience these days. The Lord gave me the perfect idea! In the photo to your left (or below if viewing from your phone), I spent the day at the park, indulging in a relaxing picnic with my toddlers. It was such a delight to immerse myself in this wonderful book and soak in the presence of God.

My new favorite book is *The Awe of God* by John Bevere. If you’re looking to deepen your relationship with God, renew your mind, and gain a better understanding of God’s character, this book is a must-read!
